Mythothon: The Story of Osiris, Set and Isis - Announcement & TBR

Happy Saturday everyone! Today, I'm sharing my TBR for Mythothon which is a mythology themed readathon that will run for the entire month of April.  It is hosted by Louise @ Foxes and Fairy Tales and this round (officially the fifth) is based on The Story of Osiris, Set and Isis of Egyptian mythology.  In this readathon, the story is that Osiris was the king of Egypt, married to Isis, a wise queen.  Their brother Seth was jealous, and he plotted to kill the Osiris and take the throne. In this round of the readathon, you’ll follow out the story of these three gods.  I plan on following Set's part in this tale.

There are twelve parts to the story, each with their own reading prompt that tell the tale.  Those taking part in the readathon choose to follow one of the three gods for 4 story prompts, plus one prompt related to their powers, and one group book which is not required.  That makes a grand total of 6 prompts to complete over the course of the month.  Also the books you select to read to not need to be mythology related to count, they only need to fit the prompt, and they can be in any format.  You can follow the official readathon Twitter account here and you can follow along with participants progress via the #Mythothon hashtag as well.  Keep reading to see my TBR for the Mythothon readathon:

Group Book:

The Red Pyramid (The Kane Chronicles #1) by Rick Riordan - This would be a reread for me, but I always enjoy Riordan and it has been probably nearly a decade since I picked picked up this one.  It'll almost be like it's brand new I bet.

Character Prompts:

SET: God of Chaos, Darkness and Storms - Read a book chosen at random.

My choice: Heavy Time (The Company Wars #4) by C.J. Cherryh - I basically waved my arms over a stack of books and pulled this one out.  I've heard these books don't need to be read in order, luckily for me.

Story Prompts:

NEPHTHYS: Read a light book.

My choice: The Whisper Man by Alex North - Light as in the cover is primarily white. Also I'll be reading this for my Popsugar Reading Challenge this year.

PERFECT FIT: Read a book that starts with your initial.

My choice: Lost Transmissions: Science Fiction and Fantasy's Untold, Underground, and Forgotten History by Desirina Boskovich - I found this at a thrift store not too long ago and it sounds intriguing.

BANQUET: Read a book with food on the cover.

My choice: American Panda by Gloria Chao - Of the books I own, this is the only one that comes close to the prompt with the character drinking a cup of something.

FOURTEEN: Read a book with a number in the title.

My choice: Six Crimson Cranes (Six Crimson Cranes #1) by Elizabeth Lim - I don't know why I've let this sit on my shelf unread for so long because it looks and sounds like it will be fantastic.

Are you taking part in this readathon?  Have you read any of these books?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
