Happy Tuesday everyone! Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday which is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is a non-bookish freebie, so I thought I'd share some upcoming movies I'm looking forward to. I don't know if I've mentioned here, but I'm a member of AMC Stubs A-List and I like to take advantage of that program when I have the chance. All of the titles I've shared link back to their Letterboxd pages. Here we go, in order by release date:
The Conjuring: Last Rites - Release date: September 5th - I've really liked the previous installments (the first is still the best in my opinion), and the trailer looks pretty great. Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson are a pretty great team.
Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale - Release date: September 12th - I really loved the tv series and the movies thus far. I'm not ready for it to be all over. I'll miss everybody.
The Long Walk - Release date: September 12th - The trailer for this Stephen King adaptation really caught my attention. Francis Lawrence as the director seems like a good choice.
Tron: Ares - Release date: October 10th - I liked the previous movies and this looks like it could be fun as well. I think the trailer's use of Nine Inch Nails was a good choice.
Black Phone 2 - Release date: October 17th - I wasn't expecting to like the original as much and the trailer for this sequel quickly reeled me right back in.
Predator: Badlands - Release date: November 7th - Prey was such a pleasant surprise and I'm really looking forward to seeing where this one goes given how much I liked the previous film and also Alien: Romulus.
The Running Man - Release date: November 7th - The original movie fun and the trailer for this looks like it will hit the right notes.
Wicked: For Good - Release date: November 21st - This is probably my most anticipated upcoming release! It's been tough waiting for so long!
Frankenstein - Release date: November 2025 - We don't have an exact date for this Guillermo del Toro's upcoming Netflix release, but the teaser trailer looks amazing. I love Mary Shelley's novel and it looks like they might be doing it justice! I can say though that I do wish it was getting a theater release.
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery - Release date: December 12th - Knives Out and Glass Onion were so much fun and I can't wait for this installment. I hope Daniel Craig will do many more of these in the future.
Are you looking forward to any of these movies? As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
Great list, Lauren. I am eagerly awaiting the Downton Abbey finale. I'm not sure I want it to end either. Thanks for sharing.
