Music Monday: TV Themes, Pt. 2

Happy Monday everyone and welcome back to Music Monday! Let's share some songs we've been enjoying lately!  If you would like to play and I really hope you do, please see the rules and link up below.

Rules:

Every Monday share one or two of songs you've been enjoying lately.  It doesn't have to be a specific genre, new, or one of your favorites - just something you'd like to share with others.  If possible, share a music or lyric video of the song and your thoughts on the song(s), artist(s), and/or music video(s).

If you would like to participate in Music Monday, please join the link up at the bottom of this post by sharing your post's url.

Finally, have fun sharing and discovering new to you music!

The Wild Wild West (1965-1969) - This is easily one of my favorite classic tv shows!  It's part western, steampunk, sci-fi, action-y spy adventure series and you can't go wrong with James T. West and Artemus Gordon!  The opening title sequence really gets the tone of the show across.  Season 2 was actually the first season to be in color and the title sequence is slightly different than they were for the first season.  If you've only ever seen the movie with Will Smith and Kevin Kline, you're really missing out!  By the way, the tv show end credits were always good (the visuals were different for each episode).  It's one of the few closing credits I'll sit through just to hear the music!

Lost in Space (1965-1968) - I never really starting watching show until it started coming on after Svengoolie (which I like tweeting along with).  The opening theme song of this sci-fi show - particularly the revamped season three theme and opening title sequence - is easily the best part of the show.  And, you can't forget Dr. Zachary Smith!  His antics definitely make the show interesting - although, I'll never understand why they just didn't push him out of the airlock or something because he does cause a huge amount of trouble.  But, at least he seems to get a kick out of what he does!  The Robot's pretty entertaining, too.  By the way, did I mention the theme was composed by John Williams?

  2. Whoa, cool! I love retro TV openings. :D I kinda miss the days when TV shows had longer intros, now I feel like they're all so short!

    1. I know what you mean - I totally miss the longer opening sequences. There are a few I really like that have longer openings, but so many are just a title card.

      Thanks for linking up! :)

  3. Lauren, TV show songs, now that's a fun theme. I remember both programs well. :D It's nice meeting you through Music Monday. I'm glad to see there are others kick starting the week off in song. I've been participating in Monday's Music Moves Me for 5-years most of that time I co-host until last year when I stepped down, but if you're looking to expand your meme then you might want to check out my Monday post for the 4M URL. BTW, I like that you don't have specific music themes. I'm a free spirit and rather share songs that speak to me. I linked both music posts #5 & #6 for this week. I hope when you get a second you'll visit my site. Have a tunetastic week!
