The Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings): The Hollow Hills (The Arthurian Saga #2) by Mary Stewart

On Friday's I take part in three weekly link ups - The Friday 56, hosted by Freda's Voice, and Book Beginnings, hosted by Rose City Reader.  For The Friday 56, you choose a book, a book you have just finished, a book you are about to start, your current read, and share a line or a few lines that grab you (but don't spoil anything) from page 56 or 56% of the way through the ebook. Post it and share your post's url on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post. As for Book Beginnings, you share the first sentence or so and your initial thoughts, impressions, or whatever else it inspires, and then link up your post's url with Rose City Reader.

Happy Friday everyone!  This week I'm spotlighting one of my current Trope-ical Readathon reads, The Hollow Hills (The Arthurian Saga #2) by Mary Stewart.  I've been putting off this series for ages and I ended up enjoying the first installment of this Arthurian retelling, and I'm so glad to be jumping into the sequel now.

There was a lark singing somewhere high above.

The eye doctor's skilled assistant will simply strike them blind.

What are you reading this week?  Have you read this book?  Are you taking part in this readathon?   As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!

  1. I seem to have missed your review of the first book? But Hollow Hills looks fascinating because I too am a fan of Arthurian lore. Hope the series goes well!

    1. I read the first one back in February - I'm glad I'm better late than never to this series. :)

  2. Oh my gosh I love the Mary Stewart Arthurian books, it has been so long since I have read them. Seeing this, I may have to dig them out again

  3. Great excerpts! Thanks for sharing, and here's mine: “CUL-DE-SAC”

  4. Love that beginning! I love the sound of a Lark! Happy weekend!

  5. I've heard good things about this author but haven't read anything by her. Her books are so long. They intimidate me. My Friday quotes are from PROJECT HAIL MARY

  6. I hope you enjoy this! I do love this series😁

  7. Intriguing snippets! Thanks for sharing! Hope you have a great weekend! :)

  8. Those excerpts are interesting. I've never read anything by this author.
