Top Ten Tuesday: Wintry Reads

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Welcome to the Top Ten Tuesday now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.  This week's topic is Cozy/ Wintry Reads.  I'm featuring books that I associate with colder, winter weather.  Without further ado, here we go in order by title:

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (The Chronicles of Narnia #1) by C.S. Lewis

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

Shadow and Bone (The Grisha Trilogy #1) by Leigh Bardugo

The Shining by Stephen King

Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls #1) by Maggie Stiefvater

Have you read any of these books?  What books do you think would be best to read with some snow on the ground?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!

  1. Yay for 'Narnia.' Love seeing that one on a list. Makes me wonder why I didn't add it to mine this week. :)

  3. I can totally see why you'd include these books in this list. Narnia books really fit the prompt in my opinion. My TTT

  4. Shiver sounds appropriate haha! And The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe too. Good one!

Let The Right One In is a book I've wanted to read but just haven't gotten to yet- maybe 2019 is the year!

  5. Definitely have to put the Grisha Verse books on my winter TBR (I bought Shadow and Bone for Black Friday so I have no excuse for the first one at least). I don't know why I didn't think of A Christmas Carol when I made my list this year.

Fun fact: Frankenstein was written during the summer... it was during the Little Ice Age, during a year known as The Year Without a Summer. I haven't read it, but I know that it has frozen imagery because that's what they were surrounded by that summer.

  6. I have the Shining and the Lion, Witch and Wardrobe on my list too. Great minds and all that.

  10. The Night Circus would be perfect for this time of year. I am so stoked that she has another novel coming out, but I have so many expectations because of how much I love this one. Great list!

  11. Book Thief is a totally awesome choice for wintry reads! Never would have crossed my mind. Great list!

  16. I was going to narrow down some of your picks and be like, "YES! This one is my favourite from your list!" but then I realized I'd be doing that with basically every single one that you picked? So I have decided to just squeal a little bit and say, GREAT CHOICES, because, really, what else is there to say? So many good books. Swoon.

  17. I always forget all the classics I read, when it comes to these topics. A Christmas Carol, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and Little Women are fabulous picks. Wish I had thought of them.
