Top Ten Tuesday: Books I’d Want With Me While Stranded On a Deserted Island

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Welcome to the Top Ten Tuesday now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.  This week's topic is Books I’d Want With Me While Stranded On a Deserted Island.  I hope all of these books would in some way help me make it through until I was either rescued or managed to save myself.  Here we go, in alphabetical order by title:

Be Not Far From Me by Mindy McGinnis

Beauty Queens by Libba Bray

Dry by Neal Shusterman and Jarrod Shusterman

Hatchet (Brian's Saga #1) by Gary Paulsen

The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games #1) by Suzanne Collins

Life of Pi by Yann Martell

Lord of the Flies by William Golding

My Side of the Mountain (Mountain #1) by Jean Craighead George

Spill Zone (Spill Zone #1) by Scott Westerfeld

This Mortal Coil (This Mortal Coil #1) by Emily Suvada

What would you you want to have if you were stranded on a deserted island?  Have you read any of these books?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!

  1. Beauty Queens.Ha! No good advice from them. I'd want books I'd like to reread over and over...or super long books. My TTT is off-topic this week. My list

  2. Great list! Be Not Far From Me made my list this week, too, and Beauty Queens would be such a fun read for a desert island.

  4. Life of Pi might be a little too close to home, lol, but it's such a great book😁

  5. What a great list! And smart to include Hatchet. You could get a lot of good survival tips from that one. :)

  7. I’ve read almost all of these! I’d probably bring thick classics to the island. There are so many I want to read, but I’m not motivated to do it.

  9. I had The Hunger Games on my list too! I hated Lord of The Flies, it was one of the books we were assigned in school, but I guess you could pick up some survival tips. I've heard really good things about Beauty Queens, I want to check that out at some point. I read Dry last year, I liked the idea for the book but wasn't such a fan of the story itself. I've heard really good things about This Mortal Coil as well, but have been avoiding any virus related stories for obvious reasons!

    1. Anything I've watched or read that's been virus or plague related has been a real trip this last year and a half, that's for sure.

  10. Now Hatchet would definitely be an interesting choice! I loved that one so much growing up. I'm curious if it still holds up.
