The Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings): The Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson + 50/50 Friday

On Friday's I take part in three weekly link ups - The Friday 56, hosted by Freda's Voice, Book Beginnings, hosted by Rose City Reader, and 50/50 Friday is a new weekly link up and it is hosted by Carrie @ The Butterfly Reader and Laura @ Blue Eye Books. For The Friday 56, you choose a book, a book you have just finished, a book you are about to start, your current read, and share a line or a few lines that grab you (but don't spoil anything) from page 56 or 56% of the way through the ebook. Post it and share your post's url on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post. As for Book Beginnings, you share the first sentence or so and your initial thoughts, impressions, or whatever else it inspires, and then link up your post's url with Rose City Reader. Then, for 50/50 Friday, every week there's a new topic featuring two sides of the same coin - you share a book that suits each category and link up on the hosts blogs.

This week I'm spotlighting my current read for Book Riot's Read Harder ChallengeThe Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson.  This will fulfill the task to read a humor book.  I remember seeing the trailer for the 2014 movie adaptation and thinking it looked pretty funny.  I plan on watching it after I finish the book.

Beginning:

You might think he could have made up his mind earlier, and been man enough to inform his surroundings of his decision.  But Allan Karlsson had never been given to pondering things too long.

56:

Aronsson phoned the county police chief from his car and updated him.  The county police chief was grateful because he was giving a press conference at the Plevna Hotel at two o'clock and so far he had had nothing to say.

50/50 Friday: Best/ Worst Conclusion To A Series - This week was another freebie so I'm updating the topic from April 7, 2017.

Best - Summoned to the Thirteenth Grave (Charley Davidson #13) by Darynda Jones - I finished this on Wednesday and it's easily one of the best grand finales in urban fantasy.  I'm honestly hoping that there will be a spin-off!  By the way, I listened to this entire series on audiobook because Lorelei King is just that talented.

Worst - Raging Star (Raging Star #3) by Moira Young - I absolutely loved the first book in this trilogy, but the second and third books were quite disappointing.  I'd actually like to pretend that book one was just a stand alone.

Have you read any of these books?  What are you reading this weekend?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!

  5. Such a funny book. Everything is nearly slapstick the way it works out I didn't realize there was a movie. I wonder if it catches the humor without going over the top. My quotes and thoughts on A Heart in a Body in the World
