The Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings): Reaper Man (Discworld #11) by Terry Pratchett + 50/50 Friday

On Friday's I take part in three weekly link ups - The Friday 56, hosted by Freda's Voice, Book Beginnings, hosted by Rose City Reader, and 50/50 Friday is a new weekly link up and it is hosted by Carrie @ The Butterfly Reader and Laura @ Blue Eye Books. For The Friday 56, you choose a book, a book you have just finished, a book you are about to start, your current read, and share a line or a few lines that grab you (but don't spoil anything) from page 56 or 56% of the way through the ebook. Post it and share your post's url on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post. As for Book Beginnings, you share the first sentence or so and your initial thoughts, impressions, or whatever else it inspires, and then link up your post's url with Rose City Reader. Then, for 50/50 Friday, every week there's a new topic featuring two sides of the same coin - you share a book that suits each category and link up on the hosts blogs.

This week I'm spotlighting one of my Beat the Backlist reads, Reaper Man (Discworld #11) by Terry Pratchett.  I'm so glad to be visiting Discworld again and spending some more time with Death!

Beginnings:

The Morris Dance is common to all inhabited worlds in the multiverse.

56:

"And now I'm going to have a lie down," he said.  "It's been a long day."

50/50 Friday: Character Most/Least Likely to Have a Drunk Night of Karaoke

Most - Adam from If I Stay by Gayle Forman - This is the first book that came into my mind for this prompt.  I've only read book one in this duology, but I could see Adam doing this based only on what we know about him from Mia.  Probably wouldn't even have to be drunk to do karaoke since he's an up and coming rock star.

Least - Mia from If I Stay by Gayle Forman - I have a feeling Mia just wouldn't what with her potential future as a cellist at the Juilliard.

What are you reading this weekend?  Have you read either of these books?  Do you agree with my picks for this week's prompt for the 50/50 Friday?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps evening commenting down below!

  1. Discworld sounds like a series I would really enjoy... but there are so many books and that's just seems like a really big commitment.

    1. There are a lot of them - my favorite subseries is Moist von Lipwig's which starts with Going Postal. :)

  2. Have you read the whole discworld series and you are rereading it? Or can you hop around within the series? I've only read the Tiffany Aching subseries and LOVED it. I should start from the beginning. My Friday Quotes

  5. I really must try more Terry Pratchett. I think I was too young to 'get it' the first time I tried Discworld. I think I might appreciate it more now.
