Music Monday: The Lady Is A Tramp

Welcome back to Music Monday! Let's share some songs we've been enjoying lately!  If you would like to play and I really hope you do, please see the rules and link up below.

Rules:

Every Monday share a few songs you've been enjoying lately.  It doesn't have to be a specific genre, new, or one of your favorites - just something you'd like to share with others.  If possible, share a music or lyric video of the song and your thoughts on the song(s), artist(s), and/or music video(s).

If you would like to participate in Music Monday, please join the link up by sharing your post's url.

Happy Monday everyone!  This week I'm sharing the song The Lady Is A Tramp - first the Frank Sinatra version which was featured in the movie Pal Joey (1957) and the original version of the song.  As far as I knew the song was original to that movie, but it turns out that it was written for the musical Babes in Arms (1937) and there were quite a few covers of it from that time period.  Give a listen to the Frank Sinatra version, the Henry King version, and the Tommy Dorsey with Edythe Wright version.   Plus, I love that the lyrics for them are each a bit different.  As much as I like Frank Sinatra, I've got to say that my favorite of these three is Tommy Dorsey with Edythe Wright - she has such a great voice, doesn't she!

  2. These are all great versions. Didn’t lady Gaga and tony Bennet cover this song…?
