PopCulture Readathon, Disney Channel Original Movies: 2000s Board - Announcement & TBR

This July I'll be participating in the next round of the PopCulture Readathon, created and hosted by Whitney @ bookswhitme (with some assistance from Lo @ Reading Parental).   The theme is Disney Channel Original Movies.  I haven't seen very many of them, but I liked quite a few of the ones I have.  There are 3 different boards - 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s.  I decided to tackle the 2000s board.  Who knows if I'll come close to completing it, but it gives me a lot of options.  Keep reading to check out my TBR:

The Color of Friendship - Social Justice Book Written By A Black Author

My choice: Angel of Greenwood by Randi Pink - I hadn't heard of this until recently when it arrived at my library.  It sounds like it will be quite a powerful read.

Gotta Kick It Up - Latinx Centered YA

My choice: Sanctuary by Paola Mendoza and Abby Sher - I've been eyeing this at my library.  It sounds like it will be a great dystopian novel.

Double Teamed - Book Starring Twins

My choice: Identical by Ellen Hopkins - I'm surprised by how much of this author I haven't read yet.  I really need to catch up.

The Proud Family Movie - Top 5 Illustrated Cover

My choice: The Pages of the Mind (The Uncharted Realms #1) by Jeffe Kennedy - Doesn't this just look cool, and it sounds pretty cool too.

Up, Up, & Away - Black Hero Saves The Day

My choice: Tristan Strong Keeps Punching (Tristan Strong #3) by Kwame Mbalia - I've loved this series so far and I can't wait to see what happens next, but I don't want it to end.

Get A Clue - Read A Whodunnit?

My choice: The Naturals (The Naturals #1) by Jennifer Lynn Barnes - This has been compared to Criminal Minds and I really liked that show.

Wendy Wu Homecoming Warrior - Inspired By Asian Mythology

My choice: Daughter of the Moon Goddess (The Celestial Kingdom Duology #1) by Sue Lynn Tan - This sounds and looks like it will be totally awesome.

Cheetah Girls 2 - Sequel You Think Will be Better Than The Original

My choice: The Laughing Corpse (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #2) by Laurell K. Hamilton - The first book in the series was a pleasant surprise and I think it's only going to get better.

Motorcrossed - Queer Or Queer-Coded Characters

My choice: Love, Creekwood (Simonverse #3.5) by Becky Albertalli - It will be nice to be back with the gang.

Cadet Kelly - Enemies Forced To Work Together

My choice: Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson - I've been sitting on this standalone for way too long.

Jett Jackson: The Movie - An Underrated Author Or Series

My choice: Mythmaker (Supernatural #14) by Tim Waggoner - I've really enjoyed everything I've read by this author and the books inspired by this tv show have been pretty good.

Jump In! - MC Brakes Away From Tradition

My choice: The Tower of Ravens (Rhiannon's Ride #1) by Kate Forsythe - Doesn't this just have a great cover!

Luck of the Irish - MCs Culture Or Heritage Plays A Key Role In Story

My choice: Breath of Earth (Blood of Earth #1) by Beth Cato - This looks like it's going to be a fun steampunk story.

High School Musical - An Overhyped Author Or Series

My choice: His Majesty's Dragon (Temeraire #1) by Naomi Novik - I've heard so much about this author, but I've only read one of her books so far and it just wasn't quite for me.  This though sounds really cool.

Right On Track - F* Gender  Norms

My choice: Rebel Belle (Rebel Belle #1) by Rachel Hawkins - I've had this on my shelf for way too long.  It's time I finally get around to it.

Twitches - Black Witches Or Black Supernaturals

My choice: Bad Witch Burning by Jessica Lewis - This YA fantasy horror sounds like it's going to be fantastic.

Have you read any of these books?  Which of these books should I read first?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
