Music Monday: The Parting Glass

Happy Monday everyone and welcome back to Music Monday! Let's share some songs we've been enjoying lately!  If you would like to play and I really hope you do, please see the rules and link up below.

Rules:

Every Monday share a few songs you've been enjoying lately.  It doesn't have to be a specific genre, new, or one of your favorites - just something you'd like to share with others.  If possible, share a music or lyric video of the song and your thoughts on the song(s), artist(s), and/or music video(s).

If you would like to participate in Music Monday, please join the link up by sharing your post's url.

This week I'm spotlighting a couple of my current favorite covers of "The Parting Glass" which is one of my favorite traditional Irish songs.  The cover below by Peter Hollens with The Fox + The Hound was posted only a couple of weeks ago, but it's quickly become a classic in my mind.  If you haven't listened to either of these two before, this is a fantastic starting point.  I'm also sharing a cover of the song by The High Kings which is my go to version of this song hands down.  Just listen to their harmonies - wow!

  1. I thought I recognized this song. The only version I've heard was the one performed by Celtic Woman. I like these ones too.

  2. I LOVE this song!! I've recently been getting into folk songs more and more so I was so excited when Peter Hollens released his folk song album. I've been following him for some time (a couple years, maybe) and I've been loving his adaptations of songs. I hadn't heard the High Kings version, though, and I absolutely love it. Thanks for sharing, Lauren!
