Winter 2018-19 Bookish Bingo

I've enjoyed taking part in seasonal Bookish Bingo hosted by Bekka @ Pretty Deadly Reviews before and I've decided to come back for another round this season!  Like before, the goal is to earn as many bingos as possible from December through February.  Below are the books I hope to read for each bingo square.

Friend's Fave:

The City of Brass (The Daevabad Trilogy #1) by S.A. Chakraborty - A friend of mine got this book in a subscription book box and she had nothing but great things to say about it.  I can't wait to try it for myself!

Blue Cover:

My Plain Jane (The Lady Janies #2) by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows - I loved the first book in this series and I need to know where they go with Jane Eyre.

LGBT+:

The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy (Montague Siblings #2) by Mackenzi Lee - I just recently tackled the first book in this series and Felicity was my favorite character so I'm thrilled that she leads the sequel herself.

Historical:

Dread Nation (Dread Nation #1) by Justina Ireland - Zombies during the Civil War - check!

Second Chance:

It by Stephen King - I tried to sit down and read this ages ago, but I didn't make it very far - Tim Curry's Pennywise traumatized me too much.  Anyway, I'm ready to try it again - I think...

2018 Release You Missed:

Everless (Everless #1) by Sara Holland - I've got a copy on my shelf, but somehow I hadn't gotten to it before now.

Romance:

Alex, Approximately by Jenn Bennett - As soon as I heard that the main character is a classic film fan, I knew I needed to pick up this YA Contemporary Romance.

Co-Authored:

Kill the Farm Boy (The Tales of Pell #1) by Delilah S. Dawson and Kevin Hearne - This just sounds like fun - and one half of the talent is one of my favorites.

White Cover:

Sherlock Holmes: The Red Tower by Mark A. Latham - I have a hard time saying no to Sherlock Holmes and this sounds like it could be an awesome new installment.

Religious Minority MC:

Does My Head Look Big In This? by Randa Abdel-Fattah - You know back when this book was first released in 2005, I would have been the exact same age as it's lead character!

Features Tech:

Alif the Unseen by G. Willow Wilson - I love Wilson's Ms. Marvel and I can't wait to try more from her - plus, it's also recommended to fans of Neal Stephenson.  So, yeah, I can't wait!

December, January, or February New Release:

Queen of Air and Darkness (The Dark Artifices #3) by Cassandra Clare - I don't know if I'm ready for this Shadowhunter series to wrap up - I doubt I'll be alright afterward!

Free Space:

Sixth Grave on the Edge (Charley Davidson #6) by Darynda Jones - This urban fantasy is addicting and a lot of fun.

Disabled MC:

Wonder by R.J. Palacio - I have been wanting to try this novel for ages.  After I watched the great movie adaption, I knew I had to get to it as soon as possible.

Start a Series:

Trail of Lighting (The Sixth World #1) by Rebecca Roanhorse - I was hoping to get through this one for Fall Bookish Bingo, but I ran out of time.  It sounds like an awesome new urban fantasy and I'm looking forward to jumping in.

Pink Cover:

The Merciless (The Merciless #1) by Danielle Vega - I've heard a lot about this YA horror novel and it sounds like it could be great.

Male Main Color:

Clean (Mindspace Investigations #1) by Alex Hughes - I don't know about you but this sounds like a really cool noirish sci-fi urban fantasy.

Fantasy:

Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass #3) by Sarah J. Maas - I've just read book two and I *need* to continue this series asap.

Book was a Gift:

Harry Potter: A Journey Through A History of Magic by The British Library - I received this a few months ago and I can't believe I haven't already read it myself.  You can't go wrong with HP.

Author of Color:

Akata Witch (Akata Witch #1) by Nnedi Okorafor - I read Who Fears Death for the Read Harder Challenge earlier this year and I absolutely need to read more from Okorafor.

Fave Author:

Yesternight by Cat Winters - Cat Winters has quickly become one of my favorite historical fantasy authors and I need to catch up on her work!

Set in Europe:

This Dark Endeavor (The Apprenticeship of Victor Frankenstein #1) by Kenneth Oppel - Prequel to the classic?  I need it!

Animal on the Cover:

Going Bovine by Libba Bray - I need more of the this author my life - I'm dying over here until the fourth Diviners book comes out!

Spin-Off:

Not Forgotten (Buffyverse #45) by Nancy Holder - I've read a bunch of this series, but this is one of the few I haven't - it's the first Angel tie-in book (not counting the novelization of the pilot).

2019 Debut:

Enchantée by Gita Trelease - I just been approved for this on NetGalley and I have to say I'm really excited for this French Revolution set historical fantasy!

All right then!  If you've made it this far, congratulations.  It looks like I've got a lot of great reading coming up.  Have you read any of these?  What should I start first?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below.
