The Reading Rush TBR

Happy Saturday everyone!  This week I'm taking part in The Reading Rush (previously known as BookTubeAThon) which runs from July 22nd - July 28th.  So many bloggers from around the world take part in this annual readathon that I finally decided I couldn't miss this because it sounds like such fun.  It's all about reading as much as you can during the course the readathon and I'm taking part in the seven official challenges.  Keep reading to see my TBR for this readathon:

1. Read a book with purple on the cover

Once & Future (Once & Future #1) by Amy Rose Capetta and Cori McCarthy - This sounds like it's going to be an awesome Arthurian retelling - and just look at that cover!

2. Read a book in the same spot the entire time

Ms. Marvel, Vol. 9: Teenage Wasteland by G. Willow Wilson - Kamala Khan is hands down one of my favorite current Marvel comics characters and I can't wait to see more of her adventures.

3. Read a book you meant to read last year

Dreadful Company (Dr. Greta Helsing #2) by Vivian Shaw - I loved book one in this series and I don't know why I haven't read the sequel yet.  I loved Shaw's brand of dark urban fantasy, gothic horror, and mystery and I have high expectations for book two.

4. Read an author’s first book

We Hunt the Flame (Sands of Arawiya #1) by Hafsah Faizal - The hype is strong with this one - and it sounds like it'll be amazing.  My fingers are crossed that it'll be just that good!

5. Read a book with a non-human main character

This Savage Song (Monsters of Verity #1) by Victoria Schwab - Schwab has quickly become one of my favorites.  I can't wait to read more from her in this YA series opener!

6. Pick a book that has five or more words in the title

The Library at Mount Char by Scott Hawkins - I've had this on my shelf for ages and it's high time I finally pick it up.  It sounds like it'll be great.

7. Read and watch a book to movie adaptation

Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews - I've been meaning to read and watch this for ages, and now I'll finally be getting around to it.  I'll be listening to the audiobook via Libby.

Have you ever taken part in this readathon?  Have you read any of these books (or watched this adaptation)?  What book should I read first?  As always, thanks very much for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!

  3. I liked Me and Earl. The adaptation was so successful, because Andrews wrote/directed/did everything for the movie. The changes were subtle between the two, but smart. Good luck with your reading rush!
