The Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings): Godblind (Godblind #1) by Anna Stephens + 50/50 Friday

On Friday's I take part in three weekly link ups - The Friday 56, hosted by Freda's Voice, Book Beginnings, hosted by Rose City Reader, and 50/50 Friday is a new weekly link up and it is hosted by Carrie @ The Butterfly Reader and Laura @ Blue Eye Books. For The Friday 56, you choose a book, a book you have just finished, a book you are about to start, your current read, and share a line or a few lines that grab you (but don't spoil anything) from page 56 or 56% of the way through the ebook. Post it and share your post's url on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post. As for Book Beginnings, you share the first sentence or so and your initial thoughts, impressions, or whatever else it inspires, and then link up your post's url with Rose City Reader. Then, for 50/50 Friday, every week there's a new topic featuring two sides of the same coin - you share a book that suits each category and link up on the hosts blogs.

Happy Friday everyone!  This week I'm spotlighting one of my Magical Readathon books, Godblind (Godblind #1) by Anna Stephens.  This book will fulfill the prompt to read a book with a creature with a beak on the cover.  I just happened to find this book at Ollie's Bargain Outlet quite a while back and it sounded like it could be right up my alley.

Beginning:

Rillirin stood at the back with the other slaves, all huddled in a tight knot like a withered fist.

56:

Corvus brought his blade up and they clattered together, screeching.

50/50 Friday: Favorite/ Least Favorite Read of March 2020

Favorite - Sensational (Spectacle #2) by Jodie Lynn Zdrok - I read a lot of great books this month, but this series finale takes the cake.  This YA historical fantasy series deserves a lot more attention.

Least Favorite - Wicked Saints (Something Dark and Holy #1) by Emily A. Duncan - I really wanted to love this, but unfortunately didn't work out for me at all.  I actually ended up DNF'ing it at only page 75.

What are you reading this weekend?  Have you read any of these books?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!

  1. Wicked Saints wasn't my favorite either. I think I rated it higher than I should have, in retrospect🤣

  2. Godblind sounds so good! I've had it on my Goodreads "to read" shelf for a while.
I keep hearing not so good things about Wicked Saints, I heard that it's a not very good knock off of Shadow and Bone.
