Book Riot's 2021 Read Harder Challenge - February Update: I Wish You All the Best & Escape From Mr. Lemoncello's Library

Happy Saturday everyone!  I hope everyone's been staying healthy and happy.  I can't believe it's already the end of the February.  It's been quite a month, hasn't it?  Anyway, that means that I've now completed the first 4 tasks of Book Riot's 2021 Read Harder Challenge.  The tasks I completed this month required me to read a romance by a trans or nonbinary author and a middle grade mystery and I selected I Wish You All the Best (I Wish You All the Best #1) by Mason Deaver and Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's' Library (Mr. Lemoncello's' Library #1) by Chris Grabenstein respectively.  Read on to see my mini reviews and what's coming up for March:

❋ ❋

I Wish You All the Best (I Wish You All the Best #1) by Mason Deaver is an absolute must-read.  The story and cast of characters are all fantastic.  Ben is a new favorite character of mine.  The representation here is outstanding in terms, especially when it comes to mental health and queer voices.  This is an important book and it has easily earned its spot at the top of reads of 2021 so far.  I cannot wait to try more from Mason Deaver in the future.

My review is also on Goodreads.

❋ ❋

You know, I had a fun time with Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's' Library (Mr. Lemoncello's Library #1) by Chris Grabenstein. I got a kick out of the whole Willy Wonka's library thing going on here. Plus, all of those bookish references!  I have to admit that during some of those trivia moments I answered before and with the characters.  It's fun to play along with everyone.  The audiobook production is pretty fantastic as well.  I think I'm going to have to continue on with this series on audiobook in the future.

My review is also on Goodreads.

Next Up For March:

Read a work of investigative nonfiction by an author of color

My choice: Adnan's Story: The Search for Truth and Justice After Serial by Rabia Chaudry - I've listened to some of that podcast and I need to get caught up and just like to know more.

Read an own voices YA book with a Black main character that isn't about Black pain

My choice: Slay by Brittney Morris - This just sounds so cool.

Have you read either of these books?  Are you taking part in Book Riot's Read Harder Challenge this year?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
