Wyrd & Wonder 2026 - Movies and TV Shows I Want To Watch This Month

Happy Saturday everyone!  Today I'm sharing my potential watchlist for Wyrd & Wonder 2026 (a month long celebration of all things fantasy co-hosted by Lisa @ Dear Geek Place, imyril @ There’s Always Room For One More, Ariana @ The Book Nook, Annemieke @ A Dance With Books, and Jorie @ Jorie Loves A Story with artwork by Varvara Gorbash).  I've got quite a few fantasy movies and tv shows on my watchlist and I think I've got some great watching ahead of me.  Who knows if I'll make much of a dent in them, but I'll give it my best try!  If you like, you can check out my announcement and tbr post here.  You can check out my list on Letterboxd as well, if you like.

Movies:

Blithe Spirit (2020) - I've seen a lot of mixed reviews for this, but it sounds like it could be fun. Plus, it will be cool to see Dan Stevens and Judi Dench onscreen.  I'm also watching this for my 52 Years In 52 Weeks: 2026 Challenge.

Dragonslayer (1981) - Somehow I've missed this up until now, but I've made it a priority with my 52 Years In 52 Weeks: 2026 Challenge and Wyrd & Wonder.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (2009) - I've been putting this off for too long, but I'd still like to see Heath Ledger's final film.  I think this is going to hurt.  I'm also watching this for my Hater Club Movie Challenge 2026.

The Thief and the Cobbler (1993) - I've heard great things about this and I see that it includes the voice talents of one of my favorite actors, Vincent Price, so that already gives it points in my book.  I'm also watching this for my Hater Club Movie Challenge 2026.

Vampire Hunter D (1985) - Somehow I didn't realize there was a movie until recently and I knew I'd have to give it a try.  I'm also watching this for The Podcast Macabre 2026 Horror Challenge.

Viy (1967) - I've heard a lot of great things about this film fantasy horror film from the USSR so when I saw that it's available to watch on Tubi I thought I'd give it a try.  I'm also watching this for my Hater Club Movie Challenge 2026.

TV Shows:

Castlevania, Season 1 - I've heard a lot of great things about this series, so I thought I'd finally try it. I used to like to play some of the games on my old Game Boy Advance. I guess I'm dating myself with that!

Fate: The Winx Saga, Season 1 - One of my friends was really into this show, but somehow I never got around to it when it was originally on.  I did watch the original cartoon back when it was on about 20 years ago, though. 

Good Omens, Season 3 - Seasons 1 and 2 were amazing, and season 3 (coming on May 13th) will just be a 90 minute episode series finale.  There is so much I need to have happen. Too bad about everything that happened with Neil Gaiman though. 

One Piece, Season 2 - Season 1 of this live action adaptation was a ton of fun and I've been saving up season 2 for this month to enjoy.  I'm looking forward to meeting a lot of characters here!  I'm especially interested in seeing David Dastmalchian join the cast.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Season 2 - Season 1 was amazing and I've been saving back this new season to enjoy during the month of May.  I can't wait to see how it continues to adapt the series.
