Wyrd & Wonder 2026 - Announcement & TBR

Happy Friday everyone!  Today I'm sharing my  tbr for Wyrd & Wonder 2026 which is a month long celebration of all things fantasy co-hosted by Lisa @ Dear Geek Place, imyril @ There’s Always Room For One More, Ariana @ The Book Nook, Annemieke @ A Dance With Books, and Jorie @ Jorie Loves A Story (artwork by Varvara Gorbash).  Wyrd & Wonder has quickly become a highly anticipated online event these last few years.  It's such a cool way to challenge myself to enjoy more fantasy.  As usual, I have some fun stuff planned around my part of the internet this month - and my regular weekly posts will have a fantasy flavor.  You can follow the Bluesky account here and there's even a Discord server called Otherworlds to keep track of all the chatter this month.  Without further ado, let's get to what I hope to read this month.  No guarantees that'll I'll be able to actually get to a fraction of these, but at least I'll have plenty of books to pick from for my reading pleasure.

Books I Own:

Cry Wolf (Alpha and Omega #1) by Patricia Briggs - This is set in the same world as the Mercy Thompson series and I'm checking it out for the Beat The Backlist 2026.

The Devils (The Devils #1) by Joe Abercrombie - I've been dying to read this and I think this will be the perfect time to read it.  It's also one of my Beat The Backlist 2026 books.

Nightshade and Oak by Molly O'Neill - After how much I loved Greenteeth, I've been dying to read this.  I'm also reading this for Bookforager's Picture Prompt Book Bingo 2026.

Ombria in Shadow by Patricia A. McKillip - This looks like it might be right up my alley.  This is one of my challenge books for The 52 Book Club's 2026 Reading Challenge.  Plus, I've also featured it in my Books From The Backlog.

The Serpent Bride (DarkGlass Mountain #1) by Sara Douglass - I've really liked other books from this author, so I hope I like this one too.  It's one of my Beat The Backlist 2026 books.

Silver Borne (Mercy Thompson #5) by Patricia Briggs - I've really enjoyed what I've read of this series before and it's time to start catching up.  It's also one of my The 52 Book Club's 2026 Reading Challenge reads.

The Summoner (Chronicles of the Necromancer #1) by Gail Z. Martin - This is one I've had on my shelf for far too long.  It's one of my Beat The Backlist 2026 books.

To Ride A Rising Storm (Nampeshiweisit #2) by Moniquill Blackgoose - This is one of my most anticipated reads of 2026! I loved book one so much!  It's one of my Read Queerly 2026 books and one of my The 52 Book Club's 2026 Reading Challenge reads too.

Under the Pendulum Sun by Jeanette Ng - This sounds like it could be a great gothic historical fantasy.  It's one of my Spell It Out Reading Challenge 2025 books.

Windfall (Weather Warden #4) by Rachel Caine - It's been too long since I've read this series.  This is one of my Beat The Backlist 2026 books.

Library Books:

Fire (Graceling Realm #2) by Kristin Cashore - I loved the first book in this series and it's time I get to the rest of it.  This is one of my challenge books for The 52 Book Club's 2026 Reading Challenge.

The Last Legacy (The World of the Narrows #3) by Adrienne Young - I've fallen too far behind with Young's books.  This is one of my The 52 Book Club's 2026 Reading Challenge reads.

Magic Burns (Kate Daniels #2) by Ilona Andrews - Book one was a lot of fun and I need to catch up on it.  Also, it's one of my 2026 Popsugar Reading Challenge.

Midnight Blue-Light Special (InCryptid #2) by Seanan McGuire - I really enjoyed book one and I'd like to catch up on this series.

Somewhere Beyond the Sea (Cerulean Sea #2) by TJ Klune - I don't know why I've been putting this off, but it's one of my 2026 Popsugar Reading Challenge reads and this would be a great time to get to it.

White is for Witching by Helen Oyeyemi - This horror fantasy has been on my TBR for a very long time.  It's time to check it off.  I'll be reading this for Book Riot's 2026 Read Harder Challenge.

Are you taking part in Wyrd & Wonder this year?  Have you read any of these books?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
