The Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings): Unquiet Dreams (Connor Grey #2) by Mark Del Franco

On Friday's I take part in two weekly link ups - The Friday 56, hosted by Freda's Voice, and Book Beginnings, hosted by Rose City Reader.  For The Friday 56, you choose a book, a book you have just finished, a book you are about to start, your current read, and share a line or a few lines that grab you (but don't spoil anything) from page 56 or 56% of the way through the ebook. Post it and share your post's url on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post. As for Book Beginnings, you share the first sentence or so and your initial thoughts, impressions, or whatever else it inspires, and then link up your post's url with Rose City Reader.

Happy Friday everyone!  This week I'm spotlighting one of my PopCulture Readathon books, Unquiet Dreams (Connor Grey #2) by Mark Del Franco.  This sequel was definitely an improvement over the first book in the series and I think the series has the potential to become a great one.  If you like The Dresden Files, I have a feeling you want to try this as well.

Beginning:

No good phone calls come at seven o'clock in the morning.  Strike that.  No good phone calls from Detective Leonard Murdock come at seven o'clock in the morning.

56:

"Go ahead, keep that up, and I won't invite you for coffee," I said.

Have you read this book?  Are you taking part in this readathon?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!

  1. I do enjoy the Dresden Files and so will have to look for this one. I am glad you enjoyed the second book. I can relate to no good calls coming at 7. Make that 6:30 a.m. for me, like today. Luckily it wasn't Detective Murdock calling me though. Just an employee in panic mode that needed some reassurance and guidance. I hope you have a great weekend!

  2. Does this work as a standalone or do you need to read the first one before jumping in?

    1. You'd definitely want to start with book one in this case.
