Sci-Fi Month 2022 - Movies & TV Shows I Want To Watch This Month

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Today, in honor of Sci-Fi Month 2022 (Image credit: Artwork by Simon Fetscher), I'm sharing some sci-fi movies and TV shows I want to watch (or at least get started on) this month.  All of them will be first time watches for me.  Who knows how many I'll be able to get to, but at least I have a good watchlist ready to go.  You can follow along with my progress via Letterboxd for the movies, Korean tv series, and Doctor Who specials.  Read on to see what I'm hoping to watch this month:

Movies:

Alien: Covenant (2017) - I just recently watched Prometheus for the first time and I really need to see what's next.  Michael Fassbender's David was the real MVP of the first movie, so I'm glad to see that he's back for this.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) - I can't wait to see this - I hope I get the chance to see it on the big screen!

Lightyear (2022) - Who am I kidding?  This looks like it's going to be a lot of fun.

Orbiter 9 (2017) - This Spanish sci-fi movie on Netflix looks like it's got a lot of potential.

Spiderhead (2022) - I've heard this Netflix movie isn't the best, but it's always good to see Chris Hemsworth.

Strange Days (1995) - I hadn't heard of this until recently, but it was recommended to me as a fan of Minority Report and Blade Runner, so hopefully this will be good.

Synchronic (2019) - This Netflix movie sounds like it has a very cool concept and Anthony Mackie is in it and I like him quite a bit.

They Call Me Jeeg (2015) - I've heard this Italian superhero movie is really good and it's available on Amazon Prime Video right now.  Plus, Luca Marianelli is in this and he's always good.

TV Shows:

Andor (2022) - I haven't watched any of the other Star Wars Disney+ shows yet, but Rogue One is one of my favorites.

Doctor Who (2019-2022) - It's time I get caught up on the Thirteenth Doctor - I'll be starting on Resolution, then watching series 12 and 13, and the specials Eve of the Daleks and Legend of the Sea Devils.  I just recently picked these up on DVD and I'm really looking forward to seeing these characters again.

The Expanse, Season 2 (2017) - The first season of this series was pretty awesome.  I don't know why I've been putting off continuing it for so long!

Lost in Space, Season 1 (2018) - I like the old classic tv series (Dr. Smith and the Robot are my favorites!), but I've been meaning to try the new series as well.  A friend of mine was really into this so I hope her hype for this works for me!

Sisyphus (2021) - I've been meaning to watch this Korean show on Netflix for way too long.  It's time I finally try it.

The Umbrella Academy, Season 3 (2022) - It's been brutal waiting to watch this newest season, but this just seems like a perfect time to come back into this world.

Upload, Season 2 (2022) - The first season of this series was such a pleasant surprise and I'm so glad this series got a second season and has a third one in the works.

Have you watched any of these?  Which should I jump into first?  Are you taking part in Sci-Fi Month this year?

  2. Strange Days is one of my favorite movies. Angela Bassett is awesome in it, Juliette Lewis... Sisyphus is one I was also thinking of trying. I saw Orbiter 9 a while back and think I liked it, even reviewed it maybe, I need to go back ha ha

Andor is really good but starts out a little slow, lots of people say it's boring, but I think it gets better as it goes and I'm hooked now!

I think you (or someone) recommended Upload to me at one point, so I need to try it!
