Pride Month 2021 - Potential TBR

Happy Saturday everyone!  As you may know, June is Pride Month and as I usually do I've decided to celebrate the occasion by tackling some LGBTQIAP books this month.  If you like, you can check out what I read for Pride Month in 2018, 2019, and 2020 as well. I think I've got a pretty good line up for this year.  Here are some of my own books and library books I hope to read in June:

Books I Own:

The Forever Sea (The Forever Sea #1) by Joshua Phillip Johnson - I mean, this sounds awesome and just look at that cool cover.  I hope this will be a great series opener.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab - V.E. Schwab is one of my all time favorite authors and I'm dying to jump into her newest novel.

Plain Bad Heroines by Emily Danforth - I won an ARC of this book awhile back and I think it's going to be just my brand of historical horror.

Seafire (Seafire #1) by Natalie C. Parker - To be honest, all I had to hear was pirates.  Plus, all three books in the trilogy have been released so if I like this I'll be able to check out the rest right away if I would like to.

The Smoke Thieves (The Smoke Thieves #1) by Sally Green - I really enjoyed Green's Half Bad trilogy and I'm looking forward to her new YA fantasy series.  Plus, the trilogy is complete as well.

There Will Come A Darkness (The Age of Darkness #1) by Katy Rose Pool - I won an ARC of this awhile ago as well and it's high time I finally picked it up.

The Unspoken Name (The Serpent Gates #1) by A.K. Larkwood - This Adult fantasy debut sounds like it has a lot of potential to become a new favorite.

Library Books:

Lies We Tell Ourselves by Robin Talley - Robin Talley is fairly new to me as I only started reading her full length novels last year, but I'm glad I haven't missed out because she's quite talented.  At least I'm finally starting to catch up on her work.

Noteworthy by Riley Redgate - I read this author for the first time last June and I'm glad to be getting around to more of her work because Seven Ways We Lie was pretty great.

Shadowshaper Legacy (Shadowshaper Cypher #3) by Daniel Jose Older - I loved the first two books in this YA urban fantasy trilogy so much that I didn't want it all to end.  I listened to them on audiobook, but unfortunately the finale isn't available to me in that format from the library but I'm sure I'll enjoy it just as much in print format.  This book is also on my 2021 Popsugar Reading Challenge TBR.

War of the Bastards (Royal Bastards #3) by Andrew Shvarts - I also loved the first two books in this YA fantasy trilogy and I don't know why I've been putting off this finale.  Maybe I'm just not ready to see say goodbye to it yet.  This book is also on my 2021 Popsugar Reading Challenge TBR.

When Brooklyn Was Queer by Hugh Ryan - I've seen this one come and go at my library several times and it sounds like a must read history book.  Plus, this is also one of my Book Riot's 2021 Read Harder Challenge selections.

What are you planning on reading in June?  Have you read any of these books?  Which one should I read first?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!

  1. I need to go through my June review books and see what works for Pride Month. You have a great list! Addie LaRue and The Unspoken Name are fantastic😁

  2. Plain Bad Heroines looks like a lot of fun! You have a really strong list here, and I didn't even know some of these books fell into the LGBTQIAP category. Hope these turn out to be great.
