The Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings): Sunrise of Avalon (Twilight of Avalon #3) by Anna Elliott

On Friday's I take part in two weekly link ups - The Friday 56, hosted by Freda's Voice, and Book Beginnings, hosted by Rose City Reader.  For The Friday 56, you choose a book, a book you have just finished, a book you are about to start, your current read, and share a line or a few lines that grab you (but don't spoil anything) from page 56 or 56% of the way through the ebook. Post it and share your post's url on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post. As for Book Beginnings, you share the first sentence or so and your initial thoughts, impressions, or whatever else it inspires, and then link up your post's url with Rose City Reader.

Happy Friday everyone! This week I'm spotlighting one of my current reads, Sunrise of Avalon (Twilight of Avalon #3) by Anna Elliott.  This Trystan and Isolde retelling has been fantastic and I can't wait to see how it all ends.

Beginning:

A ship sails on gentle seas
At its prow a maiden stands,
Forever young, forever fair,
Her raven locks caught on the wind.
She calls the magic from her heart
It runs through her fingers,
Like sand, like time.
The sea whitens; the moon fetches light.
All is peace at last
The King's wounds are healed.
Arthur sleeps
In Ynys Afallach, the realm of Avalon.

56:

Trystan looked tired, too, his blue eyes smudged with weariness, his mouth tight.  He'd been in combat recently, or at least in danger.  Isolde had treated too many wounded soldiers not to know the signs.

Have you read this book?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!

  2. I've always wanted to read something about Trystan and Isolde but have never taken the time. So you recommend this series about them. Is it based on the few facts that are known about them? My review and quotes for Lincoln Highway
