Reindeer Readathon - Announcement & TBR

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Today I'm sharing my TBR for the Reindeer Readathon which will run for the entire month of December.  It is hosted by Breakeven Books with some help from Steff, Noelle, Savy, and Amanda as the other team leaders.  I am officially a member of the Snowflake Team which is Noelle (noelle7pages).  You can also check out the official Twitter account here.  I saw this readathon last year and it looked like fun, so I thought I'd give it a try this time around.  Without further ado, let's get to the prompts:

DASHER - 10 PTS - A short story (or collection) or novella

My choice: My Big Fat Supernatural Honeymoon edited by P.N. Elrod - I've had this short story anthology on my shelf for way too long.  Some of my favorite authors have contributed stories so I'm looking to see what is included.

DANCER - 15 PTS - A book by one of your favorite authors (rereads count too)

My choice: Battle Ground (The Dresden Files #17) by Jim Butcher - This is one of my all time favorite series and I can't believe I've been putting it off.  I'm so excited to get to it.

PRANCER - 20 PTS - A book with a travel element in it (vacation, quest etc.).

My choice: The Disenchantments by Nina LaCour - I've really enjoyed what I've read from LaCour so far and I really need to get caught up on her work.  The audiobook edition I plan on listening to is narrated by the talented voice actor Robbie Daymond.

VIXEN 20 PTS - A book that has recently caught your eye

My choice: The Fossil by Greig Beck - I just happened to spot this one at a used bookstore.  It really caught my eye for sure!

COMET - 15PTS - A 5 star prediction

My choice: Any Way the Wind Blows (Simon Snow #3) by Rainbow Rowell - This series has been so much fun so far and I really hope it ends well.

CUPID - 25 PTS - Take a shot at reading a new author

My choice: The Patchwork Man by David Harper - I just picked this one up at that same used bookstore.  It sounds awfully intriguing.

DONNER - 20 PTS - A book with green or red as the primary color on the cover

My choice: Kinslayer (The Lotus Wars #2) by Jay Kristoff - I really enjoyed the first book in this series and it's more than time I try the sequel.

BLITZEN - 30 PTS - Choose at least 3 books and have one chosen randomly to read (for example, rolling a die, an online poll, your pets choosing etc.)

My choice: All American Boys by Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely - I've had this YA contemporary on my shelf for way too long.  By the way, I picked out a total of three books for this prompt and picked this one out via a round of eeny, meeny, miny, mo.

RUDOLPH - 15 PTS - A standalone book

My choice: The Silver Blonde by Elizabeth Ross - I've been eyeing this for quite awhile.  I've always been interested in old Hollywood and this sounds like it has a great mystery as well.

For Bonus Points (which must be used in conjunction with an existing regular prompt):

Christmas Star (25 PTS) - A book over 500 pages: I will be applying this to the Comet prompt.

Christmas Lights (15 PTS) - A ebook: I will be applying this to the Rudolph prompt.

Christmas Carols (15 PTS) - An audiobook: I will be applying this to the Prancer Prompt

Sleighing It (50 PTS) - If you have completed all of your prompts and the Christmas Star, Christmas Lights and Christmas Carols bonus prompts, you can redo one prompt of your choice for extra points.

My choice: Never Slow Dance With A Zombie by E. Van Lowe - Yes, I totally picked this up from a used library book sale ages ago just for the title alone.  Plus, the cover is a very bright green - much brighter than it looks in this picture.

Are you going to be taking part in this readathon?  Have you ever read any of these books?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
