Sci-Fi Month 2021 - The Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings): Beautiful Chaos (Doctor Who: New Series Adventures #29) by Gary Russell

On Friday's I take part in three weekly link ups - The Friday 56, hosted by Freda's Voice, and Book Beginnings, hosted by Rose City Reader.  For The Friday 56, you choose a book, a book you have just finished, a book you are about to start, your current read, and share a line or a few lines that grab you (but don't spoil anything) from page 56 or 56% of the way through the ebook. Post it and share your post's url on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post. As for Book Beginnings, you share the first sentence or so and your initial thoughts, impressions, or whatever else it inspires, and then link up your post's url with Rose City Reader.

Happy Friday everyone!  In honor of Sci-Fi Month 2021 (Image credit: Photo by Liu Zishan on 123RF.com with a quote from Babylon's Ashes by James S.A. Corey), this week I'm spotlighting my current Sci-Fi Month read, Beautiful Chaos (Doctor Who: New Series Adventures #29) by Gary Russell.  The Tenth Doctor and Donna are a couple of my favorites from Doctor Who.  Plus,Wilf even makes an appearance.

Beginning:

It was raining up on the hill, the steady patter-patter-patter hitting the vast golfing umbrella like bullets on the tin.  Truth be told, it was raining  everywhere, but up on the hill, here in the allotment, that was the only place Wilfred Mott really cared about it raining right now.

56:

The Professor was about to call the students over, but thought it would be better to check that this wasn't a hoax.

Have you read this book?  Are you taking part in Sci-Fi Month this year?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting below!

    1. Some authors are really able to capture the style and tone of the characters really well.

  3. I do love the Doctor and Donna as a pair as well, the banter is great and the actors clearly love working with each other as well! I've never read any Doctor Who books but I'm definitely planning on getting back into some Sci-Fi soon. Thanks for sharing and have a lovely weekend :)

  4. Oh I've actually forgotten that November is Sci-Fi month as well. Not my preferred reading genre as much, but the Dr Who series might be fun for a non-sci-fi reader as well.

Happy weekend and enjoy your book!
