Book Riot's Read Harder Challenge 2024 - November Update: Artificial Condition & Creepy Crayon!

Happy Saturday everyone!  I hope everyone's been doing well in these tough times.  I've now completed 22 tasks for Book Riot's 2024 Read Harder Challenge.  The tasks I completed in November required me to read a sci-fi novella and a picture book published in the last five years.  I selected Artificial Condition (The Murderbot Diaries #2) by Martha Wells and Creepy Crayon! by Aaron Reynolds respectively.  Read on to see my mini reviews and my plans for next month:

Artificial Condition (The Murderbot Diaries #2) by Martha Wells is an excellent sequel to All Systems Red. I really enjoyed book one, but I adored this one.  It's absolutely awesome and the audiobook production is outstanding.  Now, I'm really starting to get why this is so loved.  I can't wait to see what's next in this series!

My review is also on Goodreads and my SciFi Month 2024 - Sunday Funday: Week 1 Update post.

Oh my gosh, Creepy Crayon! by Aaron Reynolds was so much spooky fun. The art style and the angels of the artwork really suit it. This picture book is perfect for Halloween!

My review is also on Goodreads.

Next Up For December:

Read a book in translation from a country you’ve never visited.

My choice: Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami - I've never visited Japan, but I would love to one day.

Read a book recommended by a librarian.

My choice: The Cost of Free Land: Jews, Lakota, and an American Inheritance by Rebecca Clarren - Starting around a month ago, a patron at the library recommended this to all of us.  A few have read it so far, and have come back with high praise for it, so I'll have to give it a try - just quite a bit later on.

Are you taking part in this challenge?  Have you read any of these books?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!

  1. I loved Artificial Condition too! And I'd live to read Norwegian Wood.
