ScFi Month 2024 - Intergalactic Book Tag

Happy Saturday everyone!  In honor of SciFi Month 2024 which is hosted by Lisa @ Dear Geek Place, Imyril @ There's Always Room For One More, Annemieke @ A Dance With Books, and Mayri @ Book Forager (Image credit: Artwork by Sxwx), I'm sharing the Intergalactic Book Tag.  I saw it over on Tammy blog @ Books, Bones & Buffy.  I also did it last year and back in 2021.  I will primarily be featuring books I've read from the past year.  Without further ado, let's get to the tag:

SPACE: NAME A BOOK THAT TAKES PLACE IN A WORLD OTHER THAN OUR OWN

My choice: Starsight (Skyward #2) by Brandon Sanderson - I was absolutely blown away by this sequel and it's predecessor.  Such a pleasant surprise to find myself so hooked on them!  I'm really looking forward to seeing what's coming next.

BLACK HOLE: NAME A BOOK THAT COMPLETELY SUCKED YOU IN

My choice: Ubik by Philip K. Dick - This was so weird and unsettling, and I loved every second of it!

LIGHTSPEED: NAME A BOOK YOU ARE ANTICIPATING SO MUCH THAT YOU WISH YOU COULD TRAVEL AT LIGHTSPEED TO GET TO IT

My choice: Saga, Vol. 12 (Saga #12) by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples - 4/15/25 - I'm dying for this, but I don't know if I'm mentally prepared!

NEBULA: NAME A BOOK WITH A BEAUTIFUL COVER

My choice: Starter Villain by John Scalzi - Just look at that kitty - so handsome and sophisticated!

GRAVITY: NAME YOUR FAVORITE ROMANTIC PAIRING THAT SEEMS TO HAVE A GRAVITATIONAL PULL TO EACH OTHER

My choice: One Fell Sweep (Innkeeper Chronicles #3, GraphicAudio Adaptation) by Ilona Andrews - I haven't really read much in the way of sci-fi books that have a romance that really fits this qualification in awhile, but I'd say this series is pretty good for it.  I'm glad I decided to try the GraphicAudio version because the production is really cool.

THE BIG BANG: NAME THE BOOK THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON READING SCI-FI

My choice: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy #1) by Douglas Adams - Honestly, I don't quite remember what really got started in on this genre, but I do know I absolutely adore this series and have for a long time.  I even get a kick out of the movie adaption.  Even though it's different, it's still a lot of fun.

ASTEROID: NAME A SHORT STORY OR NOVELLA THAT YOU LOVE

My choice: Parasite (Cymic Parasite Breach #1-5) by Darcy Coates - Darcy Coates has quickly become one of my favorite authors.  Her space horror is very creepy and intense.  By the way, this is more of a collection of 5 novellas.  It's definitely worth trying if you're a fan of space horror.

GALAXY: NAME A BOOK WITH MULTIPLE POVs

My choice: Saga, Volume 11 by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples - There are a lot of fascinating and compelling characters in this series and this volume is no different.  Vaughan balances all of these characters so well.

SPACESHIP: NAME A BOOK TITLE THAT WOULD BE A GREAT NAME FOR A SPACESHIP

My choice: Artificial Condition (The Murderbot Diaries #2) by Martha Wells - It might sound weird but I think the Artificial Condition would make quite the space ship name!  By the way, I enjoyed book one of this series, but I absolutely loved this installment.

Have you been taking part in SciFi Month this year?  Have you read any of these books or done this tag?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
