SciFi Month 2024 - Astronavigation: Announcement & Potential TBR

Happy Friday everyone and welcome to SciFi Month 2024!  SciFi Month is a month long celebration of all things sci-fi and it's hosted by Lisa @ Dear Geek Place, Imyril @ There's Always Room For One More, Annemieke @ A Dance With Books, and Mayri @ Book Forager.  You can also find it on Bluesky here and follow along with #SciFiMonth2024.  This year will be my 8th year participating!  (Image credit: Artwork by Sxwx This month I'll still be doing my regular posts, but some of them, like Music Monday, Top Ten Tuesday, Books From The Backlog, and The Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings) posts, will have a sci-fi twist.  Also be on the look out for sci-fi movie and tv reviews and a few other special things I've got planned.  At the end of the month, I'll also be holding a giveaway - so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for that!  Who knows if I'll be able to get to many of these books, but I'll give it my best try so read on for my potential sci-fi tbr for the coming month:

Books I Own:

Conquistador by S.M. Stirling - It's been awhile since I've read this author, but this alternate history sounds intriguing.

The Crawling Terror (Doctor Who: New Series Adventures #54) by Mike Tucker - This will be my first 12th Doctor and Clara Doctor Who book and it sounds like it will be a good one.

The Divide by Jeremy Robinson - This sci-fi horror novel has been sitting on my shelf for way too long.

The Doctor and the Kid (Weird West Tales #2) by Mike Resnick - I read one of the other books in this steampunk series last year and really got a kick out of it so I hope I'll like this one too.

Fall; or Dodge in Hell by Neal Stephenson - It's been far too long since I've read this author.  This is a long read, but I hope it will be a good one!  I'm reading this for the Beat The Backlist challenge.

The Forge of God (Forge of God #1) by Greg Bear - I've heard a lot of great things about this author and it's time I finally give his stuff a try.

Ganymede (The Clockwork Century #3) by Cherie Priest - I liked the first two books in this steampunk series so I hope I will with this one too.

Noir by K.W. Jeter - This cyberpunk sounds like it has potential!

Silhouette (Peacer #1) Dave Swavely - I wasn't at all familiar with the author or this book at all, but the color palette on the cover caught my eye.  Then, I found notice it's been compared to Minority Report and Blade Runner which are a couple of my favorites.  It could be a tall order, but I'm willing to find out with this cyberpunk series opener.

Starsight (Skyward #2) by Brandon Sanderson - Book one was a favorite so I have very high expectations for this sequel.

Library Books:

Abaddon's Gate (The Expanse #3) by James S.A. Corey - This series has been fantastic and I need to get caught up.  I want to listen to the audiobook, but I know there are a lot of holds on it currently so it may not come in on time.

Artificial Condition (The Murderbot Diaries #2) by Martha Wells - I've really enjoyed what I've read from Wells so far and it's time I start to get caught up.  I'll be listening to the audiobook for Book Riot's Read Harder Challenge.

The Epidemic (The Program #4) by Suzanne Young - I read book three recently and it turned out to be my favorite of the series thus far, so I'm really looking forward to this one on audiobook as the production was pretty great on the previous.

Ghost Station by S.A. Barnes - This sounds really cool and I cant' wait to listen to the audiobook.

Hell Divers (Hell Divers #1) by Nicholas Sansbury Smith - I've been on hold for this audiobook for ages and I hope it might come in finally during November!

The Relentless Moon (Lady Astronaut Universe #3) by Mary Robinette Kowal - I've loved what I've read of this series so far and I can't wait to read more.  I was meaning to read this for last year's challenge, but hopefully I can get to it this time around.

This Cruel Design (This Mortal Coil #2) by Emily Suvada -The first installment of this series was a pleasant surprise and I need to continue it.  I was hoping to read this last year, but never got there so maybe this year I can get to it on audiobook.

Are you taking part in SciFi Month 2024?  Have you read any of these books?  What should I read first?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
