The Lawson Book Tag

Happy Thursday everyone and welcome back to my blog!  Today, I'm sharing The Lawson Book Tag which I co-created with Tanya @ A Book Paradise.  If you haven't visited Tanya's blog, you need to pay her a visit because she is wonderful.  Anyway, this book tag is all about the English pop-rock band Lawson (check out their YouTube channel here) - they've been around for several years now and while they are exceptionally talented they've never really taken off here in the US which is really a shame.  Now, each question features the title of one of their songs, half from the album Chapman Square (2012) and half from Perspective (2016) and relates to either the content and tone of the song or music video.  By the way, the L and T by each number denote who came up with that part - L for Lauren and T for Tanya.  Want to take part (and we hope you do), consider yourself tagged!

1. (L) Standing In The Dark - Name a character that you felt stole the show but didn’t get as much page time as they deserved.

Kingsley Shacklebolt from the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling - Kingsley is the one of the new Order members that I would love to see get a spin-off.

2. (T) Waterfall - Name a book that deals with heartbreak.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak - If you didn't cry during this, you must be a true Vulcan.

3. (T) When She Was Mine - Name a book with an unsatisfying ending.

Dead Ever After (Sookie Stackhouse #13) by Charlaine Harris - This series was really great for the first seven or eight books, but then it started to go pretty dramatically downhill from there on unfortunately.  The final novel in the series was a total let down.

4. (L) Learn To Love Again – Name a character that has redeemed themselves.

Artemis Fowl from the Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer - Criminal mastermind and not above doing the worst to further his own interests, but over the course of the series you begin to see Artemis change for the better (a bit anyway).

5. (T) Taking Over Me – Name a book that hooked you immediately from the first page.

The Rook by Daniel O'Malley - I just finished this a little while ago and it totally reeled me in right from page one.

6. (T) Money – Most expensive book you have bought.

A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab - I usually use the library, use giftcards, coupons, or have some kind of discount when I buy books (or some kind of combination of those), but I actually paid nearly full price when I added this to my collection - and it was 100% worth it.

7. (L) Lion’s Den – Name your favorite villain/antagonist/antihero.

Victor from Vicious by V.E. Schwab - If you haven't read this Schwab book yet, what are you waiting for?!  I'm dying for the sequel!

8. (L) Roads – Favorite road trip book.

Blood Red Road by Moira Young - Not the traditional road trip as it's a dystopia, but it's absolutely amazing, especially on audiobook.

9. (L) Rio – Which fictional/bookish location do you most want to visit?

Red London from the Shades of Magic series by V.E. Schwab - I mean, who wouldn't love to visit Arnes?

10. (T) Used To Be Us – Name a book that features a great friendship.

The Princess Bride by William Goldman - Fezzik and Inigo make quite a team!

As always thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting below!  And like I said above, consider yourself tagged!

  1. This is neat! I'd not heard of the band Lawson. OMG wasn't A Conjuring of Light expensive?! I mean it's an adult fiction book which are typically more expensive but still... I just got this amazing anthology type of book in the mail the other day from the published. It's the size of a 350 page hardcover fiction book but it's $35.99. I was like whaaaaaat?! It's gorgeous though. :D Anyway, wonderful post, Lauren!

    Have a great day. =)
