How did November go so fast? How is it December already? Anyway, now that means that I've completed 22 out of 24 books of Book Riot's 2019 Read Harder Challenge! The tasks I completed this month required me to read a children’s or middle grade book (not YA) that has won a diversity award since 2009 and a book of nonviolent true crime. For the tasks, I selected Lily & Dunkin by Donna Gephart and Catch Me If You Can by Frank W. Abagnale with Stan Redding. Read on to see my mini reviews and what's next for December:

Lily & Dunkin by Donna Gephart is a beautiful, honest, and powerful, yet tough at times, middle grade contemporary novel. I highly recommend giving it a try. If you're looking for a thought-provoking and emotionally captivating middle grade read, I can't say enough good things about this positive story. I need to read more by this author.

Catch Me If You Can by Frank W. Abagnale with Stan Redding is almost unbelievable! I had no idea until very recently that one of my favorite movies is based on a true story. While the book is incredible, I think I actually prefer seeing Leonardo DiCaprio and Steven Spielberg bringing Frank Abagnale's life to the big screen - and yes, for the most part the movie is quite historically accurate considering some of the changes made.

My choice: Eragon (The Inheritance Cycle #1) by Christopher Paolini - I had no clue that this massive series started off as a self published novel. I honestly have no clue how I've missed it all these years.
A collection of poetry published since 2014
My choice: The Princess Saves Herself in This One (Women Are Some Kind of Magic #1) by Amanda Lovelace - Just going on the title of this and the sequel, I think I'll like this.

DeleteI've seen a lot of people talking about Amanda Lovelace recently, and although poetry isn't really my thing, I do love that title!
