The Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings): The Passage (The Passage #1) by Justin Cronin

On Friday's I take part in three weekly link ups - The Friday 56, hosted by Freda's Voice, and Book Beginnings, hosted by Rose City Reader.  For The Friday 56, you choose a book, a book you have just finished, a book you are about to start, your current read, and share a line or a few lines that grab you (but don't spoil anything) from page 56 or 56% of the way through the ebook. Post it and share your post's url on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post. As for Book Beginnings, you share the first sentence or so and your initial thoughts, impressions, or whatever else it inspires, and then link up your post's url with Rose City Reader.

Happy Friday everyone!  This week I'm spotlighting one of my current Magical Hop-A-Thon reads, The Passage (The Passage #1) by Justin Cronin.  I loved the tv adaptation from 2019 (and was crushed when FOX cancelled it after only one season) and I'm glad I've finally picked up the source material.

Beginning:

Before she became the Girl from Nowhere - the One Who Walked In, the First and Last and Only, who lived a thousand years - she was just a little girl in Iowa, named Amy.  Amy Harper Bellafonte.

56:

I'm sorry.  Her name is Amy.  She's six years old.

What are you reading this week?  Have you read this book?  Are you taking part in this readathon?   As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!

  1. Oh my God, those quotes have me hooked straightaway! Especially the one at the beginning! I hadn't heard about the TV show but since I don't want to be crushed as well, perhaps I'll just go straight for the book! Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a lovely weekend :)

  2. I have been curious about this book. Its lengthiness has kept me away, I'm pretty sure! Which is silly, since I used to frequently read 1000 page books! LOL

Enjoy. Here's mine: “BRAVE GIRL, QUIET GIRL”
