Wyrd & Wonder 2023 - The Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings): Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves: The Road to Neverwinter by Jaleigh Johnson

On Friday's I take part in two weekly link ups - The Friday 56, hosted by Freda's Voice, and Book Beginnings, hosted by Rose City Reader.  For The Friday 56, you choose a book, a book you have just finished, a book you are about to start, your current read, and share a line or a few lines that grab you (but don't spoil anything) from page 56 or 56% of the way through the ebook. Post it and share your post's url on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post. As for Book Beginnings, you share the first sentence or so and your initial thoughts, impressions, or whatever else it inspires, and then link up your post's url with Rose City Reader.

Happy Friday everyone!  In honor of Wyrd & Wonder 2023 (a month long celebration of all things fantasy co-hosted by Lisa @ Dear Geek Place, imyril @ There’s Always Room For One More, Ariana @ The Book Nook, Annemieke @ A Dance With Books, and Jorie @ Jorie Loves A Story with artwork by astromoali), The Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings) will be featuring one of the books I'm reading for this month's TBR.  This week I'm featuring Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves: The Road to Neverwinter by Jaleigh Johnson.  I'm so excited to read this given how much I loved the movie.  I'm so happy to see these characters in this prequel novel again!

Beginning:

"Avert your gaze, foul beast!" Edgin shielded his face with his hands.  "You have no power over me!"

But no power in Faerûn could protect him from the eruption of giggles that followed his pronouncement.  Edgin peeked between his fingers.  Also a mistake.

56:

Moving carefully, his heart in his throat, Edgin began backing down the tunnel in the direction he'd come.  He'd tried to stick to the same path he'd taken to get to this point, but the darkness enveloped him again like a suffocating cloak, and he was on edge enough that he didn't pay enough attention to where he was putting his feet.

Are you taking part in Wyrd & Wonder this year?  Have you read this book, or have you seen the movie?  As always, thanks for visiting and perhaps even commenting down below!
