Book Riot's Read Harder Challenge 2023 - November Update: Little Brother & Murder Among Friends

Happy Wednesday everyone!  I hope everyone's been doing well.  How is it already almost December?  Anyway, I've now completed twenty-two tasks of  Book Riot's 2023 Read Harder Challenge .  The tasks I completed this month required me to read a book about activism and read a  book with under 500 Goodreads ratings  and I selected  Little Brother  ( Little Brother  #1) by Cory Doctorow  and  Murder Among Friends: How Leopold and Loeb Tried to Commit the Perfect Crime  by Candace Fleming  respectively.   Read on to see my mini reviews and my plans for next month: ❋   ❋  ❋  ❋ Little Brother  ( Little Brother  #1) by Cory Doctorow  is one of those novels I wish I had read back when it was new in 2008.  I've really been missing out for the last 15 years!  Plus, Kirby Heyborn is one of my favorite narrators and he gives a great performance here.  That said,...

2023 Popsugar Reading Challenge - Update #11

Happy Sunday everyone and welcome to my eleventh and final 2023 Popsugar Reading Challenge update with mini reviews!  In November, I read 2 books for a total of 50 books completed out of 50 books. for the  2023 Popsugar Reading Challenge .  I can't believe I've finally finished this reading challenge!  Keep reading to see my thoughts on the books I read in November: ❋   ❋  ❋   ❋ Vampires of El Norte  by Isabel   Cañas   was one of my most anticipated reads.  It's incredibly vivid, atmospheric, and creepy.  If my library copy had come in earlier, it would have been a perfect read for October.  I wouldn't quite say that this quite hit the same heights as her debut novel, The Hacienda , for me, but it's still a must read if you enjoyed her style there.  I loved getting to know all of the characters, especially our two POV characters Nena and Néstor.  The vampires in the story are scary which I really appreciate...
