Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite Book Quotes

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Welcome to the first Top Ten Tuesday now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.  This week's topic is Favorite Book Quotes - I'm narrowing it down to some of my favorites from books I've read in the last year or so.  Here we go, in alphabetical order by title:

“When a man's stories are remembered, then he is immortal.” - Big Fish by Daniel Wallace

“Myths do not happen all at once.  They do not spring forth whole into the world. They form slowly, rolled between the hands of time until their edges smooth, until the saying of the story gives enough weight to the words—to the memories—to keep them rolling on their own. But all stories start somewhere, and that night, as Rhy Maresh walked through the streets of London, a new myth was taking shape.” - A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab

“If I cannot be better than them, I will become so much worse.” - The Cruel Prince by Holly Black

“There is nothing more terrifying than the absoluteness of one who believes he's right.” - The Diviners by Libba Bray

“Fiction is truth, even if it is not fact. If you believe only in facts and forget stories, your brain will live, but your heart will die.” - Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare

“Too many books. Too few centuries.” - Nevernight by Jay Kristoff

“Because,” said Thor, “when something goes wrong, the first thing I always think is, it is Loki’s fault. It saves a lot of time.” - Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman

“Kaz leaned back. "What's the easiest way to steal a man's wallet?"
"Knife to the throat?" asked Inej.
"Gun to the back?" said Jesper.
"Poison in his cup?" suggested Nina.
"You're all horrible," said Matthias.” - Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

“You destroy buildings, fight monsters openly in the streets of the city, work with the police, show up in newspapers, advertise in the phone book, and ride zombie dinosaurs down Michigan Avenue, and think that you work in the shadows? Be reasonable.” - Skin Game by Jim Butcher

“The known is finite, the unknown infinite; intellectually we stand on an islet in the midst of an illimitable ocean of inexplicability.” - Waking Gods by Sylvain Neuvel

Have you read any of these books?  What are some of your favorite quotes?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below.

  6. I loved that quote from The Cruel Prince when I read it, but I forgot to write it down (if I had it definitely would have been on my list!). I also really like the Jay Kristoff quote you've chosen: I've seen a lot of his quotes on these lists today, and they're all brilliant.

Here are my ten favourite quotes.

  16. Six of Crows! I love the dynamics in the novel (even though I still ship Kaz and Inej). x)

The Nevernight is sooo true as a bookworm though. There's never enough time in a day to read all of them, much less our lives.
