Happy Thursday everyone! Today I'm sharing my eighth update for my August progress on the year long  Beat The Backlist 2024  reading challenge, hosted by  Austine Decker .  You can see my original tbr  here .  In September, I completed 1 book for a total of 42 books completed out of 52 books on my tbr.  That's 10 books left!  Without further ado, keep reading to see my thoughts on the books I read in August: ❋   ❋  ❋ Windswept  ( Windswept  #1) by Adam Rakunas  should probably be a 3.5 rating, but since Goodreads doesn't have half stars I'm rounding down to 3. I really liked how this opened, but it didn't quite hold my attention as much as I wished it did. I doubt I'll be back for book two, but I will say that this somewhat reminded me of The Expanse just a little bit. My review is also on Goodreads . Happy Thursday everyone - I can't believe it's already October! Today, I've decided to start taking part in a new weekly linkup hosted by Carole's Random Life in Books .  I've seen Books from the Backlog around for quite a while now and it looks like a great way to put a spotlight on enticing books that I've had sitting on my shelf for awhile.  I don't know when I'll get to my weekly featured book, but I hope to some time hopefully soon. Happy Wednesday everyone!  As a part of my Halloween Reads , I thought I'd share some of the horror tv shows I want to watch this month.  I've picked out six different series to get ready for Halloween!  Who knows how much of these I'll actually watch and/ or complete, but either way I think I've got a pretty great watchlist for myself.  I'm also participating in this year's round of  Hooptober  over on Letterboxd (which started back on September 15th) - you can check out my watchlist for that  here . Without further ado, let's get to my tv watchlist: Agatha All Along (2024) - Disney+ - I don't know about you, but this seems like the perfect miniseries to watch this month.  It looks like it's going to be a lot of fun. American Horror Story: NYC  (2022, Season 11) - Prime Video - This is the most recent season of this series that's available on Prime that I haven't watched yet.  I really liked Double Feature , so I hope this one will be as go

Happy Wednesday everyone!  I hope everyone's been doing well.  I've now completed 18 tasks for  Book Riot's 2024 Read Harder Challenge .  The tasks I completed in September required me to read a  book about books (fiction or nonfiction)   and a book  about media literacy.   I selected  The Professor and the Madman: A Tale of Murder, Insanity and the Making of the Oxford English Dictionary  by Simon Winchester  and  True or False: A CIA Analyst's Guide to Spotting Fake News  by Cindy L.     Happy Tuesday everyone!  Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday which is is hosted by  That Artsy Reader Girl .  This week's topic is Books I Read &  Want To Read Because Of The Hype.  Without further ado, here we go in alphabetical order by title: Read  1984 by George Orwell  - Definitely should have read this one earlier than I did! The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger  - Welp, at least I can say I crossed it off my tbr, but otherwise I couldn't stand this.  At least I read it on my own terms instead of having to read read it in high school for weeks on end. Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden  - Uh, it was fine I guess, but it came across as a lot more American than I was expecting. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid  - Loved the characters and the Old Hollywood element, but wasn't nearly as interested in the present day set scenes.
