Top Ten Tuesday: YA Books That I'm No Longer Interested In

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Welcome to the Top Ten Tuesday now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.  This week's topic is The Last Ten Books I Abandoned (this could be books you DNFed, books you decided you were no longer interested in, etc.) (submitted by Claire @ Book Lovers Pizza). I'm focusing on YA Books That I'm No Longer Interested In. These are books that I've recently removed from my tbr simply because I've lost interest in them. Here we go, in alphabetical order by title:

Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver

Born at Midnight (Shadow Falls #1) by C.C. Hunter

Firelight (Firelight #1) by Sophie Jordan
.

Halo (Halo #1) by Alexandra Adornetto

The Kiss of Deception (The Remnant Chronicles #1) by Mary E. Pearson

Of Poseidon (The Syrena Legacy #1) by Anna Banks

Snow Like Ashes (Snow Like Ashes #1) by Sara Raasch

Sweet Evil (Sweet #1) by Wendy Higgins

Switched (Trylle #1) by Amanda Hocking

Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky #1) by Veronica Rossi

Have you read any of these books? Are there any of these that you think I absolutely need to read in the future? As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!

  1. Ooh Before I Fall. I like Lauren Oliver generally, and I liked the movie, but I've never read the book and I just never seem to get around to it. Born At Midnight is another one I thought about reading a few years ago, the premise sounded kinda fun, but again I never did. Same with PEarson's books...

    1. I liked the movie as well - I saw it before I realized it was based on a book. Since then I guess I'm just not as interested any more.

  2. Great list! I remember hearing good things about Under the Never Sky, but I've never had any interest in picking it up.

  4. Before I Fall is not worth it, I could not finish! Didn't mind the movie though. Snow Like Ashes was okay, but nothing to shout about.

    1. I did like the movie, just not quite enough to pick up the book. Good to know.

      Thanks for sharing.

  5. Before I Fall is actually my favorite LO book, and probably one of my favorite time loop books. I am getting all emotional just thinking about it.

    1. I haven't read much of her work so far, but I haven't been all that thrilled with what I have read - Replica, by the way. I did like the Before I Fall movie though. :)

  6. I've read three books on your list, Of Poseidon, Snow Like Ashes, and Sweet Evil.
Of Poseidon might be the worst of the three. SLA, is forgettable, I read the book in one sitting when it came out, but a week later I couldn't remember a single thing that happened in it.
And Sweet Evil, I kind of like that series. It's not bad. just very cliche, but fun.
After the Delirium debacle (I did not like that series) I lost interest in her books.

  8. These all look like books which I had in my library and had trouble encouraging students to check out. Now I know why. Ha! Books I've Abandoned

  9. Seeing some of these gave me flashbacks. I don't blame you for not being interested in some of these. I read a few on your list and don't think I would like them as much today as I did back then.

  10. I have to agree, I'm not interested in any of these either!🤣

  11. I read Sweet Evil when it first came out but I'm just not interested in reading the rest of the series.

  12. Before I Fall is one I actually read and loved. I think it's her best book that I've read.

    1. I haven't been too impressed with what I have read from her, so that might be the case from me too.

  13. I've not read any of these - maybe I should spread my wings a little with my YA reading (being a teacher and all!)

  14. I have a couple of these on my TBR still. Snow like Ashes is still on my radar but I do get that sometimes a book as just been out for too long. I have a couple of these.

  15. I definitely get cleaning out the TBR! I liked Before I Fall a lot, and LOVED Under the Never Sky and Kiss of Deception. But too many books, too little time!

  16. I liked the Kiss of Deception but I didn't like the 2nd and 3rd books in the series so I never recommend the series haha so I don't blame you for taking it off your TBR!

  17. Bet your TBR feels a little lighter and more manageable after removing these. xD I really need to look over mine and do the same. Halo has such a pretty cover, but we've recently weeded it from our library, too, because it's just not going out. What a shame. Hope this helped give you some room for more books on your TBR. ;)

    1. Been doing a lot of weeding lately at my library too - so I know that feeling.
