The Friday 56: Lockdown by Alexander Gordon Smith

Welcome to The Friday 56, a weekly meme hosted by Freda's Voice.

These are the rules:
1. Grab a book, any book.
2. Turn to page 56, or 56% on your eReader.
3. Find any sentence (or a few, just don't spoil it) that grabs you.
4. Post it.
5. Add the URL to your post in the link on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post.

Since I'm participating in the #ReadingCram Chills and Thrills Readathon (starting today), I'll use my first read for it!

I took an involuntary step back but stopped dead when the dogs started growling.

Comments

  1. The book's cover makes me curious about the story and reminds me of the Ebola epidemic, especially with those syringes stuck in his pocket like ballpoint pens. Growling dogs would make me take a step back too!

    1. Now that you mention that it kind of does, doesn't it! When I got it about a month I go, I had flashbacks to Doctor Who's "Are you my mummy?" and that's creepy in it's own right. :)

Thanks for visiting and sharing your own post! :)

  2. You can definitely sense the suspense in your 56! Not to mention, the book cover is enthralling, this is something I would take pick up at a local book store; thanks for sharing!

    1. Pretty amazing from just that one sentence and that cover, isn't it? I'm lucky I found this one at Half Price Books!

Thanks for visiting and sharing your post! :)

  3. The book cover looks eerily stunning. And the excerpt is interesting too. I think I'll read this book soon.
